Our Students Are True Works of Art
The New World School of the Arts (NWSA) Parent Teacher Student Association (PTSA) is a partnership between students, parents, teachers, school administrators and community members working together to support and enhance the academic and artistic endeavors of our students. New World School of the Arts offers a rigorous academic education with best-in-class and renowned artistic training in each of our performing and visual arts strands. The NWSA PTSA works to support our high-performing school community and serves as a platform to unite our school across our four strands—Dance, Visual Arts, Music and Theater/Musical Theater. By collaborating with each of our strands’ respective Booster organizations, the NWSA PTSA strives to foster an environment of inclusion, cooperation, celebration and recognition for our New World School of the Arts students, teachers, administration and families.

Smaller School; Greater Needs
Because it is a conservatory-type school, New World School of the Arts has a much smaller student body than most other magnet schools. This means that the NWSA PTSA relies on a smaller base of students for support, therefore, we need a larger percentage of our school community to become active members of the PTSA.
We Need You
It is through the generosity and involvement of our members that we are able to fulfill our mission and help our students achieve their goals. Whether it’s simply becoming a member, attending our meetings and events, volunteering, or giving a tax-deductible donation, we appreciate any and all support you can give to the NWSA PTSA!
What We Do
Aside from serving as a platform to unite our entire school community through events, meetings and communication, the NWSA PTSA is responsible for covering certain key expenses every school year. These include funding for Field Day, graduation expenses and planners for all of our students, to name a few.
Events & Activities
The NWSA PTSA also sponsors and organizes various events/activities to benefit our faculty and students:
- Faculty Welcome Back breakfast
- First Friday Back Treats for faculty
- Boss Day gift for Principal
- Halloween/Fall Free Candy Day for students
- Thanksgiving Faculty Luncheon (in conjunction with several Booster organizations)
- Faculty holiday treats and gifts
- Valentines Day/Kindness Day activity for students
- Teacher Appreciation Week activities, luncheon and faculty gifts
For the upcoming school year, the NWSA PTSA is also planning a number of new activities, fundraisers and seminars geared toward students’ social and academic enrichment, parental engagement and appreciation of our NWSA faculty and students.
